There are a number of new staff members in the school. Two probationer teachers, Emma Cooke and Angela Mendy together with Callum Dunlop who has transferred from Loudoun Academy are now in the maths Department. In Geography Lorna Devin is covering classes whilst Mrs. Elder is on maternity leave. Joanne Thomson is our new chemistry teacher. Pupils and staff wish them a warm welcome to the school.

Cricket success

Congratulations to the under 15 cricket team who are in the final of the Under 15 Plate Competition against Kelvinside Academy.

Southern Upland Way

During the summer holidays, Art teacher Justine Fuller walked the Southern Upland Way, with her father John, and raised over £540 for the local Ayrshire charity Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA). The walk is 212 miles from Portpatrick on the South-West coast to Cockburnspath on the East coast and despite, at times, some appalling weather conditions they completed the walk in 16 days. Well done to them both for this tremendous achievement.
